BANSHEE

Banshee was added to the team in 1997. To be perfectly honest, we were tired of trying to clean up Gryphin after a mud drag. Banshee is lean and mean with fewer nooks and crannies for mud to hide in. On her fourth time out, she captured fifth place. Not bad for a rookie!

In 1999, we ran Banshee in the Special Events Performance Series -- mud racing at 7 of their 11 Jamborees. At the June race in Bloomington, Illinois, we blew up the "street" motor we had been running (see the pics for the damage). MrC built and installed a new motor (and a "few" other goodies) which we "tested" at the GUMBO races in Missouri. Pansy won First Place in the "Outlaw" class at their second event!!

We ran the last two races of the series as well. In Des Moines in October, nitrous "sneezed" back through the carburetor, cracking it in half and burning up the air filter element. We put on a new filter element and MrC ran three more runs. He won the fastest reaction time of Class 4!!
